Tamil Nadu to have finishing schools in all districts

Chennai : In an attempt to increase the employability of fresh graduates, the Tamil Nadu government will start finishing school in all districts across the state in association with the IT industry, an official said here Thursday.

Talking to the media on the sidelines of Nasscom’s HR Summit 2008, C. Chandramouli, secretary (information technology), said the project will start in a month’s time.

According to him, the government will offer infrastructure facilities in all the districts and bear the training expenses incurred in the first three months of the programme.

He said around a dozen companies have shown interest in the scheme.

The government is also setting up an information communication technology (ICT) academy with an investment of Rs.60 million, he added.
