Islamabad : Pakistan called for the creation of an “enabling environment” for the success of the peace process between Pakistan and India and the resolution of the Kashmir issue.
Regretting the reported use of force against protesters at the Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, the Foreign Office spokesman on Saturday also expressed concern at “recent instances of human rights violations” in Jammu and Kashmir.
Several people, including Kashmiri separatist leader Shabbir Shah, were reportedly injured in Friday’s incident. Responding to a query, the Foreign Office spokesman stressed the need to create an “enabling environment for the success of the peace process between Pakistan and India and the resolution of the Kashmir dispute”.
