New Delhi : The Andaman and Nicobar Islands were Monday rocked by an earthquake measuring 5.00 on the Richter scale but there has been no report of any loss of life.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the tremor was felt around 3.30 p.m. and its epicentre lay southwest off the coast of Port Blair. This is the third earthquake that the union territory experienced in the last two weeks.
“We have not received any reports of loss of life and damage to property,” an IMD official said here.
