Kuwaiti Interior Minister leaves Damascus, heads to Amman

Damascus : Kuwaiti Interior Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Khalid Al-Sabah has concluded his visit to Syria and headed to Jordan.

Prior to departure Tuesday, Al-Sabah described his talks with Syrian officials as highly successful, hoping that Syrian and Kuwaiti officials would exchange more visits to discuss security issues.

He said the talks held Monday evening discussed several issues pertaining to Kuwaiti students and tourists in Syria and the exchange of expertise on terrorism, crime, the drugs trade, and weapons, declining to disclose more details.

Al-Sabah emphasized that the security of the region and its people cannot be treated as divided segments, warning that any security failure in any country would affect the entire region.

Speaking to KUNA, Syrian Interior Minister Bassam Abdulmajeed also described the Syrian-Kuwaiti security talks as successful, highlighting that coordination and cooperation is important for combating terrorism and crime.
