“The UPA government led by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has no responsibility and accountability towards the problems of the common people in the country, as it is more loyal and dependable to the US,” Sarkar told reporters here.

A member of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) politburo, Sarkar was reacting after the Left parties withdrew their support to the UPA government over the India-US nuclear deal.

He said: “The UPA leadership has failed in their commitment to the Left parties.”
