Washington : Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States Husain Haqqani on Tuesday met with Republican presidential candidate Senator John McCain at his campaign headquarters where they discussed Pakistan-US relations.
During the 45-minute meeting, Ambassador Haqqani also briefed Senator McCain about Pakistan’s comprehensive efforts in the fight against violent extremism.
McCain emphasized at the meeting that the two countries should continue to enjoy strong relations in the future.
The Pakistani envoy will also have a meeting with Democratic presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama shortly.
