“We recommend a CBI probe in the killing of the JD-U legislator,” Chief Minister Madhu Koda told reporters here.

Suspected Maoists killed Munda and three others on the outskirts of Ranchi Wednesday.

Koda condemned the killings. The government removed rural Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Nehal and those in charge of the Bundu police station on charges dereliction of duty.

“Munda was attending a prize distribution function at a school in Bundu. When he was speaking some Maoist rebels came there and fired. Munda sustained grievous injuries and two security guards and one other person died on the spot,” said R.K. Mallik, spokesperson of the Jharkhand police.

Koda said police had launched massive combing operations to nab the rebels.
