Mumbai : The Indian equities market was trading flat in early trade Thursday. The 30-share benchmark sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) opened with a loss of 102 points at 13,861.60 points.
Ten minutes into the trade, the Sensex was trading at 13,973.13 with a gain of 8.83 points or 0.06 percent.
At the same time, the S&P Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was trading at 4,171.60 points with a gain of 14.50 points or 0.35 percent compared to its last close.
Market breadth was positive. On BSE, 685 shares advanced compared to 641 that declined and 38 that remained unchanged.
DLF, Tata Steel, Wipro were among the major gainers while ICICI Bank, Jaiprakash Associate and Hindalco were losers at the initial trade.
Asian markets were trading higher.
