Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference has called a meeting of its core group here Tuesday to decide whether or not the party would support the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government during the trust vote in parliament.
“We have summoned a meeting of our party’s core group to decide on our stand during the trust vote in favour of the Congress-led government in the Lok Sabha,” Omar told reporters here Monday.
The National Conference has two members in the Lok Sabha with Omar Abdullah and Abdul Rashid Shaheen representing Srinagar and Baramulla parliamentary constituencies, respectively.
The Peoples Democratic Party led by Mehbooba Mufti has already announced its support to the UPA government.
Mehbooba Mufti represents the south Kashmir Anantnag constituency in the Lok Sabha.
