Attari border (Punjab) : Two women and a man were arrested early Wednesday by customs officials in this border town of Punjab after six kilograms of heroin was recovered from them.
All three, who are from Delhi, arrived here on the Samjhauta Express train between India and Pakistan.
They had gone to Pakistan earlier in July on a pilgrimage to Sikh shrines there. The women have been identified as Satwinder Kaur and her daughter Daljit Kaur. The third person was their relative Brij Arora.
Customs officials here said that Pakistani border guards had confiscated another sizeable consignment of drugs, said to be heroin, at the Wagah border on the Pakistani side. It was being carried on the same train.
The contraband was neatly packed in small packets of 50 gms each and stitched into dressing material for clothes, customs officials said.
