Bhopal: Reputed management institutes like Indian Institutes of Management, (IIMs), and Indian Forest Management Institutes, (IIFMs), in formulation of village plans in Madhya Pradesh. They would also extend technical and other assistance in implementation of these plans with the help of modern management techniques.
This was informed at the concluding session of the three-day workshop on decentralized planning here today. The workshop aimed at clearly defining the roles of different components in planning process so that they can play their respective roles in an effective manner.
Another objective of this workshop was to bring the flagship development schemes together to accelerate the process of achieving the goals of the 11th Five Year Plan.
The coordinator of the workshop, Prof. P.K. Vishwas of IIFM and representative of UNICEF Ms Veena Vandopadhyaya informed that villagers would formulate the village plans and the line departments of the government would only extend technical assistance to the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs). This would also help in capacity building of all concerned.
