Gaza : Israeli ships opened fire Sunday on Palestinian fishing boats from Sudaneyah area near Beit Lahya, north Gaza Strip.
Palestinian security sources stressed in statements to the media here that Israeli warships which usually sail opposite Gaza Strip have launched a large number of missiles and opened fire at a number of fishing boats that were at sea, and some of these sustained damage.
The sources added that a large number of boats headed back to shore to escape Israeli fire amid much panic among the fishermen.
There were no injuries among the fishermen, the sources said, in this latest violation of the truce between the two sides in Gaza Strip which entered effect June 19.
