New Delhi : The DMK said suspended party MP and former Union Minister Dayanidhi Maran has to follow the three line whip issued to Lok Sabha(Lower House) members of the party and vote in favour of the confidence motion on Tuesday.
DMK Parliamentary Party Leader and Union Minister T R Baalu rejected reports that Maran has not been contacted on the issue and said whip has been issued to all the MPs and he has to follow the directive.
“He has been well informed about the three line whip and he has to come and vote,” Baalu said.
Asked about the possibility of UPA government winning the trust vote, the DMK leader said, “We have got comfortable majority to win the trust vote.”
Replying to a question on DMK organising a fast in Chennai condemning the attacks on Tamil Nadu state fishermen by Sri Lankan Navy, Baalu said a delegation of party MPs will meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to impress upon him to take up the issue with Sri lankan authorities during his visit to Colombo next month to find a permanent solution to it.
