New Delhi : The US Wednesday said it is keen to convene a meeting of the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) in early August, after the IAEA Board’s approval to the India-specific safeguards pact, so that the 123 Agreement can be presented to the US Congress by early September.
“We will like the NSG meeting to take place in a week or 10 days after the IAEA Board’s meeting (scheduled for Aug 1),” US ambassador David Mulford told reporters here in a telephonic conversation from Cleveland.
He also assured India the US will work for “clean” exemption from the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) guidelines.
