Youth held with leopard skin in Chhattisgarh

Raipur : The crime branch has arrested a youth with leopard and deer skins in Chhattisgarh, the police said Wednesday.

Dhamtari district superintendent of police O.P. Pal said the district crime branch squad, acting on a tip-off, arrested Hemlal, 27, at the bus stand of Dhamtari town, 60 km from here, late Tuesday.

Police seized leopard and deer skins from the youth who belongs to the forested Mainpur locality of Raipur district, bordering Orissa state.

Police are interrogating the youth in the backdrop of reports that several poaching gangs are active in the Udanti tiger project area of Mainpur locality.
