Kolkata : Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh Wednesday refuted allegations that he has shares in the Anil Ambani-led Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group.
“The statement made by some Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader that I have shares in Anil Ambani’s Reliance is totally baseless. I have nothing to do with the Ambanis,” Singh told reporters.
“Anyway, I don’t think I need to respond to these frivolous comments by the CPI-M,” Singh added.
Singh also clarified that he has no intention to become a minister after his party Samajwadi Party propped up the Manmohan Singh government when the Left withdrew support over the India-US civil nuclear deal.
“I have never applied for any ministerial post. All the speculation about me becoming a minister is made up by the media,” he said.
