Kabul : A soldier of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) was killed and four more were wounded in a landmine blast in eastern Afghanistan, the multi-national force said in a statement Monday.
The bomb hit an ISAF vehicle while on patrol in eastern Afghanistan on Sunday. Five soldiers were injured in the explosion. One of them later succumbed to his injuries, said the statement.
ISAF Spokesman Brigidair General Carlos Branco expressed grief and shock over the incident and extended his heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the families and friends of those killed and injured in the explosion.
Names and nationalities of the casualties were withheld by the military as a matter of policy.
