The Ntv said blasts occurred in three rounds, the first one was at around 10 p.m. Sunday night and the last one at around 1:30 a.m. Monday morning.

The television quoting fire service officials as saying the cause of the blasts could not be told without investigation, but they suspected it might be due to blast in gas pipeline and short circuit of electricity.

The injured included several foreigners and television footage showed wounded persons were coming out of the 12-storey hotel named Orchard Plaza near civil center, but the television channels reported no fatalities yet.

Explosions caused fire, damaged many things and trapped many hotel residents. The wounded and frightened residents were crying at the top of their voice for saving them.

The televisions said Fire Service men, members of joint forces including Army, Police and paramilitary Rapid Action Battalion, took part in the rescue operation.
