Beirut : Lebanese President Michel Suleiman has stressed that he will work to establish best relations between Syria and Lebanon, pointing out to the strong brotherly relations of the two peoples’ history and geography and the social ties between both sides.
Receiving German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Beirut on Sunday, Suleiman expressed Lebanon’s aspiration for the continuation of the German support to Lebanon until the restoration of the occupied Lebanese lands and end of Israeli violations of the Lebanese sovereignty.
Suleiman called on the international community to find a comprehensive solution to the Middle East cause depending on insuring the Palestinians’ Right of Return to their homeland.
For his part, Steinmeier expressed his country’s support to the exerted efforts to solve the Lebanese crises, stressing that the Doha Agreement formed an important step towards realising coordination between the Lebanese parties, pointing out to the importance of the Syrian-Lebanese relations.
