Dubai : Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) secretary-general Prof Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has strongly condemned the deadly bomb blast near the Danish embassy in Islamabad that resulted in the loss of lives and damage to property.
“The OIC secretary general was outraged by the violent act of extremists and reiterated that Islam rejects terror and violence in all its forms and manifestations,” a spokesman of the OIC General Secretariat said in a statement issued in Jeddah.
Ihsanoglu expressed his sympathies to the families of the people who were killed by the blast.
He was confident that the Pakistan government would take all necessary measures to bring those responsible to justice.
Reports said at least eight people were killed and dozens more injured when the car bomb exploded outside the mission’s main gate in the Pakistani capital Monday.
