Dubai : Three bodies have been recovered from the rubble of a hotel under construction which collapsed in the emirate of Ajman.
They were found at 7 pm and 11 pm Monday and in the early hours of Tuesday, Ajman police chief Colonel Ali Abdullah Alwan was quoted as saying by the online edition of Gulf News.
The tragedy happened at about 2 am yesterday when the concrete ceiling of the basement of the Laguna Beach Hotel while the workers were pouring concrete.
Reports indicated that three other construction workers may have been trapped under the hardened concrete and are feared dead. All the victims are said to be Indians.
The newspaper said police were questioning several people, including the site engineer and a consultant. Personnel from the Dubai Civil Defence, Ajman Rescue Department, Ajman Civil Defence and the police are involved in the search and rescue operation.
