Lucknow : Congress general secretary and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijay Singh Wednesday said he would not contest the assembly elections in his home state expected to be held this year.
Singh, who served as chief minister of Madhya Pradesh for 10 years, was given party responsibilities after his defeat in the last assembly elections.
He told reporters here that he would focus on his job as Congress general secretary and in-charge of party affairs in Uttar Pradesh.
