Four Muslims qualify for NDA

New Delhi: Four Muslims have qualified for the National Defence Academy’s 120th Course beginning from July 2008.

List of 520 successful candidates was announced today by the Union Public Service Commission. Examination for this was held in August 2007.

196 candidates qualified for Air Force Academy and 33 for Naval Academy’s 40th Course. None of the Muslims were able to qualify for Air Force or Naval Academy.

195 will be finally admitted for the Army, 39 for Navy, 66 for the Air Force and 35 for the Naval Academy.

The number of vacancies as intimated by the Government of India is 335 (195 for the Army, 039 for the Navy, 066 for the Air Force and 035 for the Naval Academy.

For 2006 examination, 9 Muslims were among the 653 qualified candidates.
