More than 25 cars were set on fire by an unidentified miscreant in the past week, police said.

Early Saturday, three cars were set on fire in southern Moscow.

“Somebody placed flammable substances under the vehicles, set them alight and ran away,” police said.

Half an hour later, police received another call, saying that three vehicles were burning in eastern Moscow.

Police earlier circulated a reward of up to a million roubles (about $42,000) for information leading to the arrest of the suspected arsonist.

Several people were detained in connection with the fires on Friday.
