Srinagar : Sending warning signals to Hurriyat Conference (M) for its ‘criminal silence’ over the issue of ensuing assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir, United Jehad Council (UJC) has said that the silence maintained by Hurriyat leaders over the election issue is seemed suspicious and such blunder would never be forgiven.
In a faxed statement to News Agency of Kashmir, the spokesperson of UJC Sadaqat Hussain alleged that the people of the Kashmir are forced to vote in presence of more than seven lakh military and paramilitary forces to form a ‘puppet government’, adding that such people are being projected as leaders who even did not spare the land of Kashmiri people and oppose demilitarization.
He further alleged that some Kashmiri leaders having vested interests had allowed the military to settle permanently in the valley and the army implemented the transfer of Land Act on the pattern of Israeli government just to allow non-locals to settle down in Kashmir and tried to put the people of Kashmir in minority.
“These are the leaders whose hands are full of blood with Kashmiri people and are supporting the elections to be held under the shade of Indian Guns,” maintained the statement, adding “India want to conduct elections under the shades of thousands of guns and want to show the international community that the Kashmir is back to normalcy.”
The statement said that under these circumstances the first and foremost responsibility of Hurriyat conference is to launch anti-election campaign and appeal Kashmiri people not to vote and expose the ‘propaganda of India.’
He said that there are two reasons behind the “criminal silence” and “hidden agenda” of Hurriyat Conference including their dialogue and understanding with the Indian government and un-popularity of Hurriyat leaders among masses.
He added that if the Hurriyat leaders do not start anti-election campaign and expose the political leaders who are exploiting the people on the name of power, water and roads, the people of Kashmir and freedom movement would never forgive them.
UJC spokesman maintained that the political leaders instead of supporting the Kashmir cause are confusing the masses by showing green pastures and motivating them to participate in elections.
He added that when the people of Kashmir need to be shown right direction with regard to elections, the Hurriyat Leaders are in race to go out side for touring so as to get space in print and electronic media.
“The reasons for the participation of people in election rallies are the President Musharraf’s wrong policies about Kashmir Tehreek and the separate statements of Hurriyat leaders which confused the basic issue,” he added.
Sadaqat Hussian further said that the group participation of Hurriyat was must for people to get rid off the Indian forces and the issue is resolved as per the wishes of the people of Kashmir according to international resolution which is the only way to beat the enemies of Kashmir.
He asserted that the efforts of confidence building among the people could won the hearts and freedom.
