UAE Charitable Foundation pumps AED 3 mil into well-drilling project in Djibouti

Abu Dhabi : The Zayed Charitable Foundation has allocated AED 3 million into well-drilling projects in Djibouti, according to an agreement signed here by the Foundation’s acting director-general Salim Obaid Al-Dhaheri and Djiboutian Ambassador to the UAE Idris Ahmed Sharo.

The project is part of a programme funded by the UAE’s leading charity to drill wells in 10 African countries.

The Djiboutian ambassador expressed heartfelt thanks on behalf of his country’s government and people to the UAE and the Foundation’s contributions for the development of arid areas in African countries which are in dire need of fresh water for human consumption and agriculture.

He expressed special thanks to Sheikh Ahmed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, chairman of the board of trustees of the Foundation.
