Cooperation protocol signed to establish Jordanian-Iraqi Business Council

Amman : The Jordan Chamber of Commerce and Jordan Chamber of Industry signed here a cooperation protocol with the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce and Industry to establish a Jordanian-Iraqi Business Council.

The protocol aims to develop relations between the two countries’ institutions and private sector as well as increasing joint cooperation and trade exchange.

The protocol was signed Wednesday by chairman of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce Haidar Murad, chairman of the Jordan Chamber of Industry Hatem Holwani and chairman of the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce and Industry Jaafar Al Hamadani.

Murad and Holwani highlighted the importance of enhancing trade exchange between Jordan and Iraq, expressing the Jordanian chambers’ readiness to boost cooperation and solve any problem that might hinder the development of relations between the two countries.

Jordanian exports to Iraq amounted to USD 527 million, while imports from Iraq stood at USD 12 million.
