The industrialist friend of Rajesh Talwar, arrested on May 23 for killing his daughter Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj, belongs to Uttar Pradesh, sources in the CBI said.

Declining to divulge his name, sources said they were trying to ascertain whether the industrialist’s car was used in destroying the evidence.

“The Uttar Pradesh industrialist has been questioned in the Noida double murder to verify whether his car was used while destroying evidence,” said a CBI official.

The industrialist was questioned after his name allegedly appeared in the narco-analysis test of Krishna, Talwar’s compounder, in Bangalore. Krishna is to be taken back to the national capital Friday evening.

Krishna apparently also took the name of a friend, who works as a domestic help in the capital. He was also being questioned, sources said.

CBI spokesperson G. Mohanty said he had not been briefed and was not in a position to confirm the latest developments.

Aarushi, 14, was found dead in her Noida home May 16. Police initially named missing domestic help Hemraj as the main suspect. But his body was found on the terrace of the house the next day.

Rajesh Talwar, a prominent dentist, was arrested a week later.
