Dubai : India have been grouped with defending champions Australia, hosts Pakistan and the West Indies in Group A of the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan, September.
South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and England are in Group B in the tournament, which will be held in three Pakistan cities – Lahore, Rawalpindi and Karachi.
The tournament will be officially announced in Lahore Wednesday.
ICC’s acting chief executive officer David Richardson, Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) chief operating officer Shafqat Naghmi and Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik will be present at the launch.
That final will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, which also hosted the final of the World Cup in 1996.
