Third seed Sanaa defeated Han 7-5, 6-1 to win her first ITF tournament in two years. She last won an ITF event in Ahmedabad in 2006.

The left-handed Delhi girl hit her shots with precision and exploited Han’s inability to pick the pace and length of the ball. The Korean invariably found the net or went wide.

Though broken early by the seventh-seeded Korean in the first set, Sanaa broke back immediately in the third game and later in the seventh game to go a set up in 38 minutes.

Han cracked under pressure in the second set and committed far too many mistakes with her wild hitting. Sanaa did not have to do much and was through with the match dropping just one game in barely an hour.

“I had a good practise session in the morning. I was not happy the way I played the whole week while Han had been quite consistent. I went to the final without any expectation. All I wanted to do was to play decent tennis. I am glad I held my serve more often than I usually do,” Sanaa said.

“I am happy that I am able to win a tournament after two years though my best tennis is yet to come,” said Sanaa, who is now planning to play in a $25,000 tournament in Europe.
