Ahmedabad : The guar seed contract for June was settled at Rs.1,830 per quintal at the National Multi-Commodity Exchange (NMCE).
The settlement price of the commodity is calculated by taking the average of its closing prices of the preceding three days.
Guar seed is traded in lots of 10 tonnes and prices are quoted in rupees per quintal.
NMCE concurrently runs four series in guar seed for futures trading. The June contract, which expired Saturday touched a high of Rs.1,946 and low of Rs.1,696 during the last month.
The turmeric contract Saturday was settled at Rs.4,327.
At present, NMCE runs futures contracts in over 90 series in 25 commodities, including pepper, sacking, castor seed, copra, coconut oil, rape and mustard oil, isabgol seed (psyllium) and base metals.
