Special training in IT for Muslim students

Hyderabad : Taking a major initiative to increase the representation of Muslims in the IT/ITES companies and BPOs, the Andhra Pradesh government has launched a special training center for the girls and boys of the community.

Inaugurating the special training program at the Haj House in Andhra Pradesh, for which two hundred boys and girls have been selected, the state minority welfare minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir said that training will equip the candidates with necessary skills and knowledge required for jobs in the IT companies. While 100 candidates will be trained at the center set up in Haj House, four group of 25 students each will trained at four different centers set up by Institute of Electronic Governance. 14 leading IT companies were extending cooperation in the special training program.

Shabbir announced that on the initiative of Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, the state government will soon open another center for training in the old city. Apart from these centers, the Muslim candidates will also be trained at the other centers meant for the backward classes. “The state government is spending an amount of Rs 3 crore on this program. Training one candidate will cost Rs 40,000”, Shabbir said.

About the first batch of 15 students which has already completed its training, Shabbir said that these candidates have already got jobs in reputed multi national companies on good salaries.

“These training programs will open the doors of good IT companies and multinationals for the boys and girls of poor Muslim families”, the minister said.
