Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 35.5 degrees Celsius and the minimum of 26.1 degrees Celsius, both four degrees below what are the normal temperatures for this time of the season.

“This Sunday has turned out to be very pleasant. The drizzle, the air… everything seems so beautiful,” said Priya Mahajan, a student of Delhi University, who was at the India Gate with her friends.

Rahul Kameshera, another student, said: “Weather is so pleasing, I can stand here entire night with my friends and enjoy ice-creams.”

However, the Indian Metrological Department (IMD) warned of heavy rains in the 24 hours to Monday evening.

“The sky would be clouded and we predict heavy thundershowers for Delhi,” said an IMD official.

Though the drizzle did not last long, traffic snarled on city roads, mainly in South Extension, Chirag Delhi, Lajpat Nagar, Malaviya Nagar, Connaught Place, ITO, Palam, Uttam Nagar, Rohini and Pitampura areas.
