“The governor’s rule should be imposed with immediate effect in Jammu and
Kashmir,” Singh told reporters here.

He was here to attend an executive meeting of the state BJP.

The PDP Saturday withdrew from the coalition following its difference with
the Congress over land allotment to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) in
north Kashmir.

“If the land allotted to the Amarnath shrine board is withdrawn, the BJP
will launch a nationwide agitation. We also demand proper security to
Amarnath pilgrims,” he said.

Criticising the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government in New
Delhi, the BJP president added: “Sky-rocketing prices of essential
commodities have made life difficult for people.”
