Russian foreign minister to visit Turkey on July 2

Moscow : Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will pay a visit to Turkey on July 2, a Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrei Nesterenko said on Monday.

During his visit, the foreign minister will meet with Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan.

“Sergei Lavrov’s visit to Turkey will allow a detailed discussion of the most pressing regional and international issues, including Iraq, the Middle East peace process, Iran’s nuclear dossier, Kosovo, the situation in the Caucasus and Central Asia, Cyprus peace settlement,” the spokesman said.

The foreign minister will also discuss cooperation within the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) organization and international exercises, such as the Black Sea Naval Co-operation Task Group (Blackseafor) and the Turkey-led Operation Black Sea Harmony.

The sides will also discuss bilateral trade and economic ties.
