Kabul : Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai condemned the bomb blast during a funeral procession in the Swat area in Pakistan that killed 48 people and injured another 96.
The explosion, believed to be a suicide attack, took place while people were holding funeral services for a police officer, who was killed in a roadside bomb blast in the southern area of Pakistan’s NWFP province on Friday.
In a statement here on Saturday, the Afghan president condemned the blast and said such acts were against the religion of Islam and humanity.
Karzai said those targeting people performing a funeral ceremony of a Muslim were enemies of Islam and they were defaming the religion.
