Bombings hit southern Russian town, leaving casualties

Makhachkala, Dagestan : Police say two bombings have hit a police convoy in a town in southern Russia leaving an unspecified number of dead and injured, Reported AP.

The blasts came in quick succession in Khasavyurt, near the border with Chechnya, on Sunday, according to the press service for the police headquarters for the Dagestan region.

It said casualty figures were not immediately clear.
