KSE index ends Monday”s session at up to 14,017 points

Kuwait : The price index of Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) ended the action on Monday with a hike of 40.3 points to go over the 14,000 point mark again and register 14,017 points.

This is the second time the index crosses the psychological barrier within weeks.

The weighted index meanwhile came to 803.85 points at a down of 0.45 points.

The day saw 9,679 trades worth KD 215,768,100 in which 400,689,000 shares changed hands.

Five out of eight sector indices were also up with biggest up of 349.9 points seen in the services sector. Banks followed with an up of 35.7 points and insurance at a gain of 18.6 points.

Leading high shares was that of Aref Energy Holding Company with an up of 28.5 percent. Biggest slump was seen in National Company For Consumer Industries stock, a down of 6.25 percent.

In volume, most traded for the day was the International Resorts Company stock at 34.8 million shares.

Trading in the top five shares of International Resorts Company, Sokouk Holding Company, Ras Al Khaimah Company for White Cement and Construction Materials, Al-Safwa Group Company, and Kuwait Invest Holding Company came to an overall 34.6 percent of the day’s volume with trading of 139 million shares.
