New Delhi : Finance Minister P. Chidambaram Tuesday said there was no question of any reversal of his budget proposals, even as he promised to look at areas where there may have been some inadvertent errors.
“There will be no rollback,” the finance minister told industrialists during an interactive session organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry here to discuss the national budget for the next fiscal presented by him Feb 29.
“But if there are some inadvertent errors, we will be modest enough to admit it and ensure that it is corrected,” Chidambaram said.
Among other sectors, he asked the representatives of capital goods and pesticides to get back to his ministry with specific details on how his ministry may have erred in fixing the indirect tax rates and assured prompt action if the arguments were found genuine.
