Brisbane : A third umpire checking the snickometer with the broadcasters must surely be a first, but everything has ceased to be strange in this series.
In the midst of all the celebrations, what may have got lost was a controversy over Mike Hussey’s dismissal on Tuesday in the second of the three-match Commonwealth Bank series finals at the Gabba.
Mike Hussey (44) tried to launch a fightback but there was controversy when he was given out caught by third umpire Bruce Oxenford.
Hussey clearly hit the ball and umpire Simon Taufel referred the decision to see whether it had carried to wicketkeeper M.S. Dhoni.
The ball clearly carried but Oxenford strangely checked Channel Nine’s snickometer to confirm the edge.
