Gaza : Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert heads a special meeting to discuss the second stage of Israeli operations in Gaza Strip, Israeli radio reported Wednesday.
The radio added, “Olmert requested that all security sectors present plans for Gaza Strip operations.” Olmert had earlier met US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice last night, and the two reviewed results of talks she held with top Egyptian officials and the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah yesterday.
The Israeli radio said, “Olmert and Rice discussed ways to boost Israeli-Palestinian negotiations.” The US Secretary of State is to meet Israeli Minister of Defense Ehud Barak and Foreign Minister Tizipi Livni, separately, later in the day.
