Islamabad : President Pervez Musharraf will not attend the Islamic summit in Dakar (Senegal) on March 13-14 because of his engagements at home in connection with the formation of new federal and provincial governments, officials said.
A federal minister will represent Pakistan at the conference.
This would be the first time that Pakistan will be represented at the ministerial level.
The political parties, which won the Feb 18 parliamentary elections, are preparing to form governments at the federal and provincial levels in which the president has an important role.
