Abu Dhabi : Incessant support lent by the UAE prudent leadership to women have helped them to actively participate in all political, social, economic and development walks of life, HE Minister of Social Affairs Mariam Al Roumi affirmed on Thursday.
”This great support aims at empowering UAE women to carry out their responsibilities and duties towards their nation and community.
Armed with this support, UAE women have achieved unprecedented gains locally, regionally and internationally, the minister said in a statement to Emirates News Agency (WAM) on the occasion of World Women Day which falls on March 8th.
”The World Women Day comes this year to see the UAE women steam ahead with effective engagement in the executive power having four ministerial portfolios at the recently reshuffled government,”Al Roumi noted.
She paid special tribute to HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairperson of the UAE General Women’s Union for her persistent efforts for development of women in all domains and enabling her to serve their nation side by side with the men.
She also praised her contributions to the advancement of Arab Women as President of the Arab Women Organisation.
