Congress’ Indrajeet Kumar raised the issue in the assembly soon after the question hour, alleging that the minister’s son Sandeep Patel opened fire at Rajendra Patel’s house, and demanded discussion over the incident.

Rajendra Patel also gave an adjournment motion notice but assembly Speaker Ishwardas Rohani said he would seriously consider the issue and then take a decision.

The Harda police Thursday registered a case against Sandeep Patel and three others for firing shots at Rajendra Patel.

In his complaint, Rajendra Patel said: “Sandeep came with his friends late Wednesday night to my home and asked me to withdraw corruption charges against his father. When I refused, he fired several rounds from his Mauser but fortunately none of the bullets hit me.”

The Congress accused the police of trying to protect the minister’s son. However, the police said they were acting as per the norms.

Harda observed a bandh Saturday on the Congress call. The party is demanding the arrest of Sandeep Patel and registration of a case of attempt to murder.
