New Delhi : A city court Monday issued a warrant for inter-state gangster Brijesh Singh to be brought before it March 24 for trial in an extortion case.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kanwaljeet Arora issued the warrant after the Mumbai police failed to present him before the court.
The Mumbai police had sought Singh’s custody Feb 4 so that they could be tried in a Mumbai court for his alleged involvement in the 1992 JJ Hospital shooting case.
Singh, who allegedly worked for the Dawood gang in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, is suspected of links with politicians.
