Musharraf said: “The acts of terrorism cannot deter government’s resolve to fight the scourge with full force.”

Terming it a “savage act” not even sparing schoolgoing children, Musharraf said the masterminds behind this gruesome act would be punished.

The twin blasts Tuesday rocked Lahore, capital city of the eastern province of Punjab, leaving at least 20 people dead and more than 100 injured.

One blast occurred in the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) building, which is located close to two schools, killing 18 people including 10 FIA employees.

Musharraf directed the law enforcement agencies to gear up and do their best to prevent recurrence of such acts. He ordered thorough investigation into the incidents.

Musharraf also directed the provincial government to ensure best treatment was provided to the injured.
