Patiala : A chief engineer of the railway coach factory (RCF) who was arrested from Kapurthala town in Punjab Tuesday on bribery charges was Wednesday remanded to judicial custody for 14 days by a court here.
Chief Engineer J.K. Singla was arrested from his RCF complex home Tuesday after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) laid a trap.
He had demanded a bribe of Rs.700,000 from a railway contractor to clear his bills and had accepted Rs.100,000 out of the demand. CBI officials recovered the money from Singla’s possession.
