New Delhi: First time since Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind president Maulana Arshad Madani was removed from the post, Jamiat general secretary Maulana Mahmood Madani publicly lashed out at him in New Delhi on 13th March.
At a press conference, Maulana Mahmood Madani who is also Member of Rajya Sabha from Lok Dal, lambasted his uncle Maulana Arshad Madani for forming a new working committee. In the 6th March working committee meeting, a no-confidence motion was passed against him and Qari Usman was appointed caretaker president.
“By forming a committee on an unconstitutional basis, Maulana Arshad has crossed the line,” said Maulana Mahmood Madani. He said the general body of the Jamiat would take action against members of the new working committee on 26th March. Asked if the present situation was a result of a power struggle with the organization, Maulana Mahmood Madani said he did not wish to become president of the Jamiat even if the general body elected him.
