Dubai : South Africa Friday displaced World Champions Australia as the number one One-Day International (ODI) team in the latest International Cricket Council’s (ICC) rankings.

South Africa snatched the top spot following their thumping seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the final one-day international Friday to sweep the series 3-0 at Dhaka.

Though both South Africa and Australia have the same points (127) but the Proteas moved up on a decimal count.

South Africa’s achievement is significant as it will receives $175,000 as LG ICC ODI Champions of the year as on April 1. The second best side will collect $75,000.

Last year too, South Africa had snatched the title just before the April 1 cut-off date, to relegate Australia to second place and winning the prize money.

New Zealand is third while India occupies the fourth place.

Australia, though, are way ahead in the Test rankings and will take home the cheque for $175,000 as the top team. India are in second position and they will earn $75,000.

In the Test rankings, India got into second position as England lost their chance following their first Test defeat in New Zealand. The only way England could have gone into second place was by winning the series 3-0.
