Baghdad : The toll in Thursday’s car bomb attack in the Iraqi capital rose to 10, an Interior Ministry official said Friday.
“The toll in the car bomb attack in the capital’s Bab al-Sharji area rose to 10 Friday,” the official told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
Around 50 people were injured in the blasts. The attack took place at around 2.00 p.m. Thursday.
The bomb exploded in a car park near a commercial building, al-Khaiyam, in the crowded area of Bab al-Sharji.
Violence and killing have increased recently in Iraq, despite the US military’s announcement of a 60 percent drop in attacks since last June.
